Hi there I am just after some feedback from anyone who has bubs with reflux and has tried using gaviscon infant. we were recommended it by our dr to add to our current formula (we are using s26 - not gold), until we have used our current can, then to try using the thicker AR formulas. we thought we would give the thick formula a go first so bought the S26 AR, but bubs still brought this back up, and we had real issues with the teats getting blocked (even fast flow ones)and DS would fall asleep before he had even got anything out from exhaustion! i was also concerned that the s26 AR would cause contsipation as this is one of its side effects (although he doesn't have any probs with reg s26 like some bubs do). so today we are trying the gaviscon infant instead. we used it once this morning and it seemed to work quite well, DS didn't bring any of the formula back up, but still seemed to have a slight bit of pain for a while after the feed. the problem is that at the moment he is having more than 6 feeds a day, so we can't give it to him with every feed. i just did his second feed and he brought most of it back up afterwards. i am trying to keep him sitting a bit more upright in his bouncer now to see if that helps and am considering getting a bit of angled foam to put under his mattress to keep him on more of an angle for his naps. does anyone have any tips that can help? or has anyone tried any of the other AR formulas? are there any that are regular consistancy in the bottle that then get thicker in the stomach? novolac was another that was recommended to us by the pharmacy, has anyone used this? thanks in advance for your advice! sorry the post is so long!
